Islands

Walking in a winter wonderland, I found some islands. The first one is above the 3rd windmill(above the waterfall). You can walk on the ice, so walk up past the dock and you will find a dropspot. The other one is to the right of Angelo's house; walk on the ice to get to an island with a tree. Also, does anyone know if you can get items by jumping in the water in the horse track? Please comment if you know! Happy Late Harvest Festival!

How to get the BLUE FEATHER

As you know, the blue feather is the item you give to your beloved to propose. After you rasie the person of your dreams to orange heart level, walk into your house. Stuart and Ethel will give you a blue feather and tell you its the one that Stuart used to propose to Ethel. Before you can propose however, you must accomplish the following: raise the person to red heart level, have the required friendship with their family*(5 hearts), get the big bed from the bazaar, see all heart events, and be in year 2 of your game. Then you can propose. I don't know if you can wrap the feater or not. The wedding will be a week later, but may be later if there are birthdays, festivals, or bazaars.

*the family for each character are: Daisy-Stuart and Ethel, Antoinette-Claude, Dirk-Ivan, Ivan-Dirk, Lloyd-Felix and Sherry
Make sure you have at least 30,000 FP with these people!(30,000 is the eqivalent of about 5 hearts on the assets menu!)

The Flower Route

The Flower Route is part of my schedule. This is a circle looping through the whole town, mainly for picking up 'forageable' items. First, I check my meadow, then continue down to my first field and windmill area. Then I walk out and immidetly go right to that 'dropspot', which is usualy a flowery spot on the ground or those circluar moss things. Then I walk down the hill, check the area at the bottom of the cliffs, and continue toward the water fall. The drop spot to the right of the cave precedes my leap across the river, to the left of the waterfall. I then check right infront of the stairs leading to the third wind mill, then run straight into town. I check the drop spot to the left of the bridge, then the right. I continue into the eastern most part of town, check the area to the left of the bridge, then the large area all the way right. After that I cross the bridge, and look around near the 2nd windmill. Then I run up the boarding hill (the long wavy one) checking all the ledges. Then I run up into the hotel area (there's sometimes a walnut or two) then jump onto  the ledge to the left of the bazaar entrance. Continue until you have to jump down infront of the the carpenter and windmiller's houses and continue left. Check the pond drop spot then past Felix's house, using the barel to get up to the ledge. Down we go from there and back to our farm. You can add other chorse to this, like a stop at Raul's or a windmill. Always check for those sparkles that inicate coins and the mint thats always hard to see.
Update!!! Check my post on islands for 2 more drop spots only found in winter!!!

Emiko

To discover Emiko and her waterfall shrine, leave your farm on a sunny or cloudy day from 9pm to 2 am in year 2. It will trigger an event where you will see lights flashing by the water fall, and when you investigate it, you'll get sucked in to the cave into a beautiful shrine. Emiko will come and ask you her name and thats about it.

The Horse

Summer 2nd, Year 2. Enrique came to my house in the morning and told me he had a surprise outside. So  I follow him to the meadow and there are four horses lined up. A brown one, a white one (this is the one I picked and I named her Miffle) a black one, and a cherry one. He tells you its a gift from the mayor because you've been there for a year. After you pick and name your horse, he tells you how to take care of it. They eat horse treats, and you can ride them. The more hearts they have, the faster they'll go. After you get your horse, go over past the waterfall to where the big boulders are. There you'll experience an event where Wilbur clears the boulders for you. Now you can have horse races. If you get any more info. PLEASE comment. Miffle out!

Field Upgrade

I just bought the field upgrade at the bazaar. And I woke up the next morning asuming it would be behind the boulders that block your way to the left of the waterfall. But no! They cleared out the trees to the right of my house and bam!!! A new feild. So I asume the 3rd field will be off your meadow, after they clear out more forest. Later!!!

Fishy Facts (subject to change!)

The fish that puts up the biggest fight: Dark Sleeper
Most common fish: Amur Minnow
To be continued...

Snowstorms Suck

Unlike other Harvest Moon games, you can exit your house in a hurrincane or snowstorm. Obviously, your animals can't go outside, and the ground will be littered with braches and rocks. But the biggest problem is the wind. This 'zephyr' is way stronger than what the town is known for. Blowing left, this wind will push you and what ever you throw. Tring to jump against it gets you nowhere, and throwing things has the same effect of dropping them. But if you were to jump or throw with the wind, you, or whatever you threw will go twice as far!!!! There's also the chance that your short fishishing rod will cast to meduim distance, even though you are allways fishing aqainst the wind.

Winter is Wonderful

In most Harvest Moon games, winter was... boring. After you took care of your animals, basement crops, and the like... you were done by noon, because time doesn't pass when your indoors. But because time still goes on and on when your inside, you can still be doing things until 7 pm. One of the new features are snowballs. Throw one and you might just find an item inside. I've found flowers, weeds, braches, rocks, curry dumplings, and even another snowball. You can still fish, just use your hammer on the cracks in the river to break the ice. You can also walk on the ice to find hidden places. On winter second, Felix will bring you a snowboard, and later you will meet the long elusive Amir. Enjoy the winter season, because work is hard in spring!!!
